Lucy Lawless hails from New Zealand and she is a performer, actress, singer, and musician. Her most notable performances include Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. The most well-known of her roles is portraying the role of Xena, which she did during her entire career in the role of an actress. Lucy took on the role intended to play in the direction of Vanessa Angel. However, she was unable to attend production due to ill health. The show was so successful in that Lucy's portrayal of Xena led to a spin-off show to air in September, 1995. Following the spin-off, the series suffered another hit in its ratings as well as a cultural impact which made the show last until 6 seasons, boosting Lucy's growing fame as an actress. In addition to being known by her fans as Xena, Lucy is recognized as Diane Lewis Swanson from NBC's hit sitcom Parks and Recreation where she was on the show from 2012 until 2015.
